Facilitation Skills

The aim of this one day highly interactive course is to gain understanding of what facilitation is, the skills and techniques required to facilitate groups successfully and knowing the most appropriate tools to use in given situations.  The day will focus on how to manage group dynamics effectively and how to ensure that the needs, objectives and expectations of groups you are facilitating for, are met.

Who should attend?

Anyone who has a responsibility for facilitating groups, eg team day events, team meetings, training days and helping people through change etc.

By the end of the day you will be able to ...

  • Clarify the golden rules of facilitation
  • Identify the key qualities of a competent facilitator
  • Prepare your facilitated forum, including establishing a clear purpose and setting objectives to be achieved
  • Understand the purpose of contracting with groups
  • Identify and use new approaches and techniques to help groups who are stuck, expressing conflict or experiencing low motivation, to move forward

  • Techniques to moving people forward to their goal
  • Creative and focused endings to a forum / meeting

 

A two day course will cover the key elements above and will enable delegates to practice their facilitation skills in the safety of the group using a range of creative techniques which can be used immediately back in the workplace.
